Lisa May and Lindsay Allison
Clarity Commitment and Expertise
Over the course of sixteen years as partners, Lindsay Allison and Lisa May have consistently ranked among the top real estate sales teams in Cambridge and surrounding markets. Our success is based on one essential principle: we care.
We care about our clients - buyers and sellers alike - not just as clients but as people and friends. We treasure these relationships, some of which extend over decades, across numerous projects and multiple generations. We are deeply committed to our consistently successful, client-focused approach which we are happy to customize for you.
Over the past thirty-five years selling real estate in Cambridge, Lindsay has consistently been one of the top agents in the city, specializing in historic and architecturally interesting properties. She has a background in Art History and an avid interest in architecture, preservation and design. During her decorated career, Lindsay has built a reputation for artfully preparing and marketing properties for sale, as well as for skillfully negotiating offers to the greatest benefit of her clients. She offers a calm and strategic perspective that comes from years of living through the ups and downs of many markets.
Lindsay has a long history of giving back to the community. She served as a member of the Half Crown Neighborhood Conservation District Commission and on the Board of Solutions at Work: a Cambridge based organization run by homeless and formerly homeless people, which provide services to help move people out of hopelessness. And, for the last 20 years she has been on the Chappaquiddick Local Committee of The Trustees of Reservations and serving as a head gardener at MyToi, a Japanese style garden on Chappaquiddick Island. A mother of two children and a grandmother of two more, Lindsay has lived in Harvard Square since 1979. Her husband Blake is a partner in Dingman Allison Architects and, over the years, they have done a number of renovation and restoration projects.
Lisa began her real estate practice in Cambridge in 2002. Over the years she has built a reputation for quality and fairness, has expanded her reach to include Belmont, Somerville and Arlington and now leads the Real Estate Team of Lindsay Allison and Lisa May. Lisa came to real estate with a background in marketing, fund-raising, and design. She offers a seasoned but creative perspective on how to market real estate and is an exceptionally insightful communicator, with a remarkable ability to solve problems and see every transaction through to the end, adding value at each stage along the way.
A resident of Belmont, Lisa lives with her husband, Tevere MacFadyen, and two children, Christopher and Sam. She is involved with the community and schools in Belmont as a parent, a citizen and a resident. She recently joined the Board of Hearth Shares, an exciting new initiative raising money to fight homelessness through the restaurant industry in Greater Boston. Her husband is a principal of Main Street Design, an exhibit design firm specializing in natural history museums and aquariums.
“Lindsay and Lisa, along with Susan Russell who assists them, recently helped me sell my house in West Cambridge for a phenomenal price. From the moment I contacted them regarding this venture, they provided exact data regarding other sales in the other area, priced the home correctly, and provided recommendations for relatively simple home improvements which would lead to the most effective marketing. Their marketing technology is top of the line and they made it very easy for me to get all the pictures, videos, 3-D floor plans, etc. A party made an offer on my house as soon as it was posted without seeing it, but we stuck to our marketing plan and and had an excellent outcome. There is no one better to work with in this area! Pleasant, fun, knowledgeable, excellent communication as all times. Thank you Lindsay, Lisa and Susan! I would never work with anyone else in this area.”
“We worked with Lisa & Lindsay on a complex transaction to purchase a single family home in Cambridge. Being new to the single family real estate market in the city, we relied heavily on their expertise to guide us through the process of finding the home to raise our family. We quickly found out how competitive the market was and how quickly and decisively we needed to move. Lisa & Lindsay were excellent advisers and shepherds; attentive, always available, knowledgeable of all aspects of the local market and creative when it came to finding the right home for us. We couldn’t (and wouldn’t) recommend anyone else to work with other than Lisa & Lindsay. You will be in great hands with them!”
“Lindsay and Lisa helped me buy and subsequently sell my first condominium – and they were fantastic to work with. For both transactions there were multiple bidders involved, and they helped me navigate two bidding wars (once on one side, once on the other) with the greatest of ease. The sale was especially smooth, with Lisa offering to do two open houses in a single weekend, which certainly helped increase the number of offers we entertained that (same) Sunday evening. They remained dedicated to the transaction even once an offer was accepted – helping me communicate with the buyer and get a clean and quick close. Nobody knows Cambridge better than these two – and I have yet to meet calmer, wiser or more dedicated pair of real estate agents.”
